Time for snowboarding and skiing and other winter games. Anyone else really excited and ready to start watching the extreme snowboarding? I wish I had a portion of the talent some of those kids have.

I have never tried any real winter sports, I attempted to be on the ice once but I ended up hobbling away with a limp and a very angry knee. I would love to learn snowboarding but I am thinking my age and lack of of balance might not be the best mix.

I am most definitely not a snow bird and I avoid as far as possible, any reason to go outside if the temperature drops blow 60.  So I am quite content to watch winter sports on TV.

I'm with you - watching the television in my nice, warm living room is much better. I am so not a snow bunny. I do like watching some of the sports, though, like figure skating and skiing. My ankles are too weak to ice skate anymore but I loved it when I was a child. I have always been envious of how incredibly some of these athletes can skate.

It is not so much that I am not willing to learn but I know I could only be out in cold weather for a short amount of time and Im not sure that is enough to really enjoy anything (cold bothers me bad).

I enjoy watching ice skating on TV, especially the figure skating.  I have always had weak ankles and poor coordination (make that no coordination) and so have never ice skated myself.  I did try roller skating as a child and managed to go a few rounds before my ankles gave out.

I love skiing.  I visit the slopes as often as possible during the winter months.  I enjoy watching downhill races on the slopes.  I have attended one or two competitions on the local level, as a spectator not as a participant.
