I know that it's common today for people to barely know, or not be able to sing their national anthem, but where I grew up it's a must. Sung before every rugby match.

So we were singing it as a family and it of course got me all stirred up, and made me wonder-what do you think is the most stirring national anthem?

I would imagine your own country's would be, if you even recognized another country's national anthem. I know I only recognize a few without hearing them on the Olympics or other sporting events.

I don't know about that. I find my own national anthem rather dull in all honesty. There are many others that move me more-the rugby world cup is a perfect time to see it!

Ok, call me a softie, but whenever I hear the National Anthem for the United States, I get choked up and teary. Especially during the Olympic medal ceremonies when they close ups of the athletes and they are emotional.

Especially this part...
And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

I think most people would say that their anthem is the most stirring, especially as that is most likely the one they have heard the most.

I love the US national anthem probably because I am from the US.  However since 9/11 songs like Alan Jackson's 'Do You Remember' and Toby Keith's 'Red, White and Blue' stir a lot more emotion because I do remember and I will never forget that day.

Go, Colts!!
