Are there any fans or players of snooker here? I realise that it is another game that falls into the; is it a sport? category because of its lack of physical requirement, but it still takes a great deal of skill.

Have any of you here taking private coaching for any of the events? I was reading somewhere about the costs of raising an Olympian, and it makes me wonder how anyone manages it-and why.

Is there anywhere you can get semi decent coaching when you haven't got millions to throw at it?

After getting a way with so much, so often, he finally got it done. O.J. Simpson has finally managed to land himself in jail, this time for a minimum 9 years. I'm realley saddened to see a star, role model and all that waste his life like this.

Do you fully endorse your sports team or player or even your sport that you love? I have seem some people fully decked out head to toe, but I really can not do that. I wonder if that makes me a bad fan?

If you are a player or a coach for that matter, if there is a termination is the person able to appeal it? I know most cases would be dismissed but I wonder if they even have one to start with.

It seems anywhere I turn I am seeing players overturn the rules of the game, getting away with anything. It makes me upset to be a fan seeing someone who can not play by the rules and then hear a kid say thats their role model.

Tickets to Events for Holiday Gift Giving

I give it to my family as a holiday gift. For example, last year we went to a Globetrotter game. Any suggestions out there? I live in Michigan.

What are your thoughts on athletes getting recruited to the pros right out of high school? Personally, I would like to see them get a college degree before going pro. A college education not only provides a back up for a career, but it teaches many important life skills.

Most Stirring National Anthem

Is Bowling a True "Sport"

My husband is a great athlete and he also enjoys bowling. We occasionally have a night out at the bowling alley and we always have silly banter back and forth in regards to bowling and whether or not it is a true sport. I know that it is considered a sport and any bowler will argue to their grave. I view it as more of a hobby or pass time.... something fun to do. What other sport out there can you be overweight, out of shape, and smoke and drink heavily while doing it, and all without a referee or umpire? What are your thoughts?

Do most sports teams have doctors and dentists on call during the season they play? Trying to find a dentist since mine is out today and there is no one OC made me wonder about this while watching some old bloopers of sports in the past.

USC sprinter shot three times

The story doesn't go into much detail as to the hows and whys but the poor guy got shot three times in the leg at a Halloween party. He had to have surgery but they do hold out hope that his career will be resumed in track. The guy is an Olympic hopeful so you know he's good. Guess someone didn't like the idea of him being a track star.

Difference in countries

Goalkeeper Tips

I am about to start an indoor soccer season as the Goalkeeper for my team. I have some ideas of how to do it, but any advice and tips would be welcome.

Please share any basics you have for goalkeeping. I've only played soccer for 1 year, but I am very competitive. I just don't know the basics of where to stand, what to do it, etc. Right now, I am just relying on my instincts.

As hard as it sounds, I feel sorry for Tim Montgomery. The guy obviously has a problem. After being mixed up in the BALCO case, although never testing positive, he first serves time for check kiting. Now he's caught redhanded in possession of, and distributing heroin. These guys just don't seem to get it.

Are most athletes taken out of the game until they are done being on the (legal) medicines? Sometimes we hear about them out being injured, but what about right when they come back are they all still okay to be on meds then?

I think these are some of the most insane people out there but I can not help to watch. I cant remember the guys name but he ended up not stomping on the gas and clipped the front, then back, then bumped the car over. This entire time his GF was the co-driver during it all.

I grew up watching WWF and NWA wrestling right along side my Dad. Back in those days it seemed to be a little more realistic. What do you think of it now? It seems to me to be so fake and fixed at times that I'm not absolutely sure it would even qualify as a sport anymore.

Children and sports

What sports do your children participate in? Do you let them pick the sports they play in when they are very young or do you guide them towards the sports you like or that you think they would be good at? Mine have played just about every sport out there. When they were little I tried to get them involved in as much as time allowed. As they get older though I let them choose what sports to play.
