Four unlucky matches are too much apparently. Past champions have won with five loses, but not so many early on. These were what they considered to be unlucky loses, and yet if they cannot perform well against such poor teams comparatively, its all adding up to them not taking the season.

Kinnear and Shearer

Man, I cannot stand Kinnear! He is so up himself. He's now said that Alan Shearer (whom I absolutely adore, and who was a part of the Magpies greatest period imo) is welcome to come a couple of days a week and 'learn what football is all about'! I was shocked!

Alan Shearer was an amazing footballer. Kinnear has shown that he sucks as a manager, and has anger problems to boot! Move out of the way Kinnear and give Alan a chance-he'd rally the team members, and I'm sure that even as a rookie manager he would do WAY better than Kinnear.

Apologies for the rant, but I found this hugely insulting.

With today's win against Stoke City (big surprise there) Man Utd have moved to third in the league, with still one game in hand. They still have a fairly large eight point gap behind the leaders, but this is closer to what one would expect from this team.

Attendance at Games Average

I wonder if season ticket holders are having any affect on this-the league is stating that attendance at games is overall the same as last year. There are more people attending for some teams, and less for others (like Newcastle, whose fans are rather angry) but overall its the same.

Why can the UK manage this when Nascar attendance and even NFL is down?

Sheffield Complaining About Relegation

One and a half seasons ago, Sheffield United was demoted from the Premier League, in a rather controversial move. West Ham also were in danger but for some reason were not docked points for a late signing, as they should have been.

Now I get that they were done wrong by, but if they were worthy of Premier League they would have gone straight back up wouldn't they? Instead they are sitting in fifth, rather than walking at the top of the table. Perhaps its time they accept that this is where they are supposed to be.

It won't go through thankfully but what would be the point in that? The league saw a pretty dull day all told today, with the most remarkable results being the loss of Newcastle Utd to Sunderland, 1-2. Newcastle is headed rapidly and depressingly toward relegation at the end of this season, and that is very sad.
