Four unlucky matches are too much apparently. Past champions have won with five loses, but not so many early on. These were what they considered to be unlucky loses, and yet if they cannot perform well against such poor teams comparatively, its all adding up to them not taking the season.

I'd still say its not impossible, just highly unlikely because they now have to do far better against far better competition than they have managed so far against poor competition. Time will tell.

Arsenal are gone. Today they lost against Man City, which makes five league defeats already. They slipped to fifth in the league, with Villa moving up to number four.

I would say that nothing short of a miracle could put Arsenal back on their feet again - but miracles do happen.  I think the spark is gone though.

I see this sometimes that a team can (as you said above) just lose the spark, and it tends to happen more than once. We need to remember that just like us, members can get burnt out.
