| Right, I guess that some of this is entirely subjective. The problem becomes, who is it that decides what is a sport and what is not? And who decides what is worthy of the Olympics?

pirategirl38 (11/10/2008) What other sport out there can you be overweight, out of shape, and smoke and drink heavily while doing it, and all without a referee or umpire? What are your thoughts?
I am on the fence about bowling being a 'sport' in the sense we are talking about here, but the description above could just as easily fit Babe Ruth, taking away the bit about umpires and such, and he fared pretty well on the field...
Richard Nixon may have loved it, but I think bowling does require skill to master like the pro's do. It may not be as glamorous or a showcase of strength as other sports, but I am beginning to feel that it deserves more sport cred and respect.
